MILLBROOK – Firefighters from multiple agencies are on scene in Millbrook on Rainge Road after a residential fire. We have confirmed that one person died in the fire. Rainge Road is located off of Oak Tree Road.
The fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Range Road. Responding were the Millbrook Fire Department, Coosada Fire Department and Elmore Fire Department.
Millbrook officers were first on scene and reported that the home was fully involved and a live electrical wire was on the ground. Officers began breaking out windows, but were not able to enter the residence due to the flames.
Firefighters were quickly on scene and began working the fire, being told that one man was thought to still be inside. A short time later, that was confirmed when first responders located the body.
No further information is immediately available. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Our sincere condolences go out to the family.
