From: Ann Harper

Economic Development Director, City of Millbrook

The City of Millbrook and the Elmore County Commission are pleased to announce that 1220 Café, a popular Tallassee dining destination, will be joining Baumhower’s Victory Grille in the growing restaurant lineup planned for the Marketplace at 17 Springs.

Owned by Noah and Pam Griggs, Stephen Duggar and Todd Cornwall, 1220 Café has become a favorite gathering place in Tallassee since opening its doors in 2012. The restaurant offers guests a fresh, fast-casual dining experience featuring a wide variety of sandwiches, hand-tossed salads, soups, home-style meals, seafood selections, and house-made desserts.

The Millbrook location will be the second restaurant for 1220 Café and represents another exciting addition to the Marketplace at 17 Springs, a commercial district that is quickly establishing itself as one of the River Region’s premier destinations for dining, shopping, recreation, and entertainment.

“We are thrilled to welcome 1220 Café to Millbrook and to the Marketplace at 17 Springs,” said Mayor Al Kelley. “The restaurant has built a strong reputation for quality food, outstanding customer service, and community involvement. Their menu offers something for everyone, and we believe they will be a tremendous addition to our community.”

Bart Mercer, Chairman of the Elmore County Commission, adds that “1220 Café is a great addition to the Marketplace at 17 Springs. Noah and his team have a reputation for quality food, service and hospitality. We believe they are a great fit for the Marketplace and compliment 17 Springs nicely.”

Noah Griggs, owner of 1220 Café and Chief Executive Officer of Wharf Casual Seafood, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the restaurant’s signature dining experience to Millbrook. “Millbrook is experiencing tremendous growth, and we are excited to become part of that momentum,” said Griggs. “The Marketplace at 17 Springs provides an outstanding location, and we look forward to serving residents and visitors with the fresh, quality food and hospitality that have made 1220 Café a favorite in Tallassee.”

Known for its fresh-baked breads, made-from-scratch soups, gourmet sandwiches, salads prepared to order, home-style entrees, and desserts baked in-house, 1220 Café has earned a loyal following throughout the region.

The addition of 1220 Café further strengthens the Marketplace at 17 Springs’ growing collection of dining options and supports the vision of creating a destination that attracts visitors from across the River Region and beyond. Additional details regarding construction and opening dates will be announced as they become available.
