The City of Wetumpka marked a milestone in its commercial growth today, Jan. 8, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Tractor Supply Company (TSC), located at 52 River Bend Lane across from the Wetumpka Sports Complex.

The opening is the first complete development within River Town Center, a signature commercial project designed to attract new businesses, create jobs, and expand retail opportunities for residents and visitors.

“It’s a great day in Wetumpka,” said Mayor Jerry Willis. “We’ve been working toward this for quite a while, purchasing 45 acres over here and recruiting businesses like this to help grow our community.”

Remaining the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the U.S. and ranking 296th on the Fortune 500 list, TSC sells everything except tractors. From clothing, pet supplies, and lawn supplies to power tools, fencing, and tractor and trailer parts, they have everything a recreational farmer, homeowner, contractor, or tradesman may need.

“Wetumpka is doing great and moving forward,” said Willis. “We want to keep that momentum going in the years ahead, so we encourage everyone to come out here and spend your money.”
