Prattville football defensive lineman Jayden Milledge had two defensive touchdowns in his junior year for the Lions. He also had 35 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. He was named Honorable Mention All Autauga County by the Elmore Autauga News. Prior to his senior season, Milledge committed to play college football at Troy University.
“The Troy staff made me a priority for their team,” said Milledge. “I felt that they would be able to develop me more as a player and as a person.”
Milledge is the second member of the Prattville football team to commit to play for Troy in college, following the commitment of Ricardo “Bam” Parker a few weeks ago.
Prattville Football Head Coach Bobby Carr expects big things from Milledge.
“Jayden is a heck of a player for us. He’s one of our leaders in the weight room and on the field. He’s not just a good player; he’s also a good student where he carries a 4.5 GPA. Troy is getting a phenomenal student athlete,” said Coach Carr.
Milledge visited the Troy campus approximately six times prior to his commitment. He already knows what field he wants to study in college.
“Coach Carr and Marlon Bush, both encouraged me to join a program that would allow me to learn the game and learn how to be a better athlete. At Troy, I want to major in nursing, hoping to become a pillar of my community demonstrating my passion and commitment towards the sport. The reality is that I will have a successful career in the NFL and after I hope to run my own gym in Alabama to help athletes achieve similar goals,” said Milledge.
Prior to graduating from Prattville, Milledge has a few goals left for high school, both academically and athletically.
“Academically, I aim to be the valedictorian of my class. As for athletically, I aim for my senior year to be my best, finishing high school with a championship ring in football and another in wrestling,” said Milledge.
The defensive lineman also is on the Prattville wrestling team, where he competes in the heavyweight division.
