The Elmore County Commission recognized this year’s Youth Leadership Elmore County class, Dec. 8, 2025, at their regular meeting.
Youth Leadership Elmore County is a 4-H program that equips high school students with essential leadership skills through hands-on, engaging experiences. It also encourages active involvement at home, in school, and within the community.
“This is our 23rd year of Youth Leadership Elmore County and the largest class yet,” said Katrina Mitchell, Director of Elmore County Extension. “We currently have 37 students enrolled.”
Students enrolled in the leadership program are from schools all over the county, including Wetumpka High School, Stanhope Elmore High School, Holtville High School, and Elmore County High School.
“We appreciate this organization and Ms. Mitchell personally taking the time to invest in these students,” said Bart Mercer, Chairman of the Elmore County Commission. “That’s the future of Elmore County sitting here.”
