This holiday season, Millbrook Senior Center participants are receiving a warm and heartfelt gift—100 hand-knitted hats, lovingly made by Janet Frazier, in time for Christmas.

Frazier set a personal goal to complete 100 hats by Christmas so they could be given as gifts to seniors attending the Millbrook Senior Center, which is managed by the Grandview Family YMCA. What began as a simple conversation turned into a meaningful community effort rooted in kindness and connection.

The idea took shape when Frazier, while working at the Grandview Family YMCA, ran into Olivia Veneable, Director of the Millbrook Senior Center. During their conversation, Veneable shared how much it would mean to have hats available for senior center participants, especially during the colder months. Inspired, Frazier got to work, knitting hat after hat with the goal of ensuring each recipient would have something warm to wear and a tangible reminder that their community cares.

The Grandview Family YMCA and the Millbrook Senior Center extend their gratitude to Janet Frazier for her dedication, time, and thoughtful spirit in making the holidays brighter—one stitch at a time.
