In keeping with Autauga County Schools’ commitment to student safety, the Transportation Department will conduct School Bus Safety Drills on all buses across the district during the week of September 22.
These drills are conducted either in the mornings or afternoons, with the students assigned to the bus performing the drill in a calm, age-appropriate manner. There is no cause for concern as this is a routine safety exercise designed to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to stay safe on the bus.
The drills teach students safe boarding and exiting procedures, the location of emergency exits, and proper behavior, ensuring they know how to respond in the unlikely event of an emergency while riding the bus. For more information, contact the Transportation Department at (334) 361-3897.
