Marbury to Host Fifth Annual Camellia Marching Band Festival

From Marbury Band Boosters

Marbury, Alabama

Marbury High School will host its Camellia Marching Band Festival this coming Saturday, September 27th with gates opening at 9:00 AM. The festival will be held on the school’s campus, located at 2360 US Hwy 31, Deatsville. This event will have a 3-judge panel for band adjudication and an educational clinic following each band’s performance. There will also be a percussion judge, a majorette/dance judge, a color guard judge and a drum major judge. Trophies will be awarded for bands, percussion, color guard, drum major, dance, and majorette who receive superior ratings. This is the largest Camellia Marching Band Festival to date, marking a milestone year for both the event and the Marbury Northstar Band.

“The excitement surrounding the Camellia Marching Band Festival continues to grow,” said Marbury Band Director Brett Johnson. “As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Marbury Northstar Band, it is especially meaningful to host the largest band festival in our school’s history. This fifth annual event will feature high school bands and two college ensembles from across Alabama and Georgia, showcasing a full day of performances and educational clinics. It promises to be a memorable celebration of music, tradition, and community.”

This year’s Camellia Marching Band Festival will feature exhibition performances by two outstanding collegiate bands: Faulkner University and The University of West Alabama! Alongside our very own Marbury High School Northstar Marching Band, these powerhouse ensembles will bring incredible energy and inspiration to the field.
