Stanhope Elmore High School Principal Ewell Fuller “Rode the Lightning” today during a Taser demonstration for campers at the Millbrook Police Department Junior Police Academy.

Today was the first day of camp for this second round of campers. Last week’s class graduated Friday. During last week, it was Millbrook Middle School Principal Sean Kreauter who took on the challenge. He is a former Montgomery Police Officer, and experienced being Tased at the Montgomery Police Academy. He was there today to give support to Fuller. And also get in a few jokes.

As for Fuller, he said that he remembers being really nervous years ago when he was playing ball and big numbers of scouts would come to watch him play. “I am much more nervous about this,” Fuller told the EAN, just minutes before he was Tased.

Afterwards, Fuller said it was much worse than he thought it would be, and he would never make a silly decision like silly running from police, or do something that gets himself Tased.

Camp will continue this week at Millbrook Middle School with graduation Friday.

The instructors cover a large amount of material, in an attempt to show the campers what some of the issues police officers deal with on a normal day. Today they learned about the dangers of drunk driving, took part in athletics, and learned about different criminal charges and what they mean. Throughout the week they will take part in other demonstrations, such as crime scene investigations, building clearing and much more. Congratulations to Principal Fuller for making it through a “Lightning” ride and thank you for taking part in the demonstration.
