Prattville football’s senior linebacker Jason Crenshaw recently committed to play college ball at Georgia Tech. Crenshaw is the second Prattville football player on the defensive side of the ball to commit to a major Division 1 football program, with defensive lineman Elijah Brown previously committing to Kentucky.

Crenshaw visited the Georgia Tech campus for three days recently prior to his commitment.

“Coach Semore, Coach Jacy Tyler, and Coach Josh really were a big part of my commitment,” said Crenshaw. “The way Coach Semore broke down film as well as the way Coach Tyler and Josh made those three days feel like home were huge. I like the academic program and how they hold the student athletes accountable. I also like the facilities built from hard dedication from those past students.”

Crenshaw averaged two sacks per game and had offers from North Carolina, Kentucky, Memphis, Arkansas State, Southern Miss, and Troy. The linebacker has lofty goals for his time in Atlanta.

“I would love to win a national championship with Georgia Tech because it’s where the best of the best are and I believe that I’m one of those ones and so is the team.”

In his senior year at Prattville, Crenshaw will be playing outside linebacker, which he thinks is his best position.

“I want to win state and put Prattville on the map. Everything I do from here on out is to represent where I come from and who I am and who the people around me are, but most importantly, it is to represent Coach Bobby Carr, Coach Johnston, and Stephon Gordon. Those men have impacted my life like no other and I’m forever grateful for them,” said Crenshaw.
