A two-week scavenger hunt in downtown Wetumpka aims to bring residents and visitors into local shops while offering chances to win prizes. The Lucky in Wetumpka Scavenger Hunt, presented by RE/MAX Cornerstone, runs from March 12 through March 26 in downtown Wetumpka.
Participants can pick up a scavenger hunt card at most participating downtown businesses and follow a series of clues leading to locations throughout the district. As they visit each location, players complete the clues and fill in their cards. The back of each card includes instructions on how to play and a QR code linking to the event page.
“I just wanted to do something fun and encourage the community and visitors to come enjoy our beautiful downtown shopping area. Springtime brings beautiful weather, so let’s have fun and enjoy competing for prizes,” said Angie Carter with RE/MAX Cornerstone.
Organizers encourage participants to take photos during the hunt and share them on the event’s social media discussion page using the hashtag #LuckyInWetumpka. Players are also asked to tag the businesses they visit when possible and keep their posts family-friendly.
Completed scavenger hunt cards can be turned in at a drop box located at the front door of RE/MAX Cornerstone in downtown Wetumpka. Each completed card counts as an entry in the prize drawings.
Random prizes from local businesses will be awarded throughout the event, and a grand prize winner will be announced after March 26. Winners will be selected from completed scavenger hunt entries and contacted using the information provided on the cards.
Participants may complete the hunt at any time during the two-week period, though organizers note that individual businesses may have varying hours.
This event is designed to encourage the community to explore downtown Wetumpka, support small businesses, and enjoy a family-friendly activity during this spring season.
