A who’s who of coaches from around the south visited Prattville High School this week, visiting several high profile recruits on the Lions’ roster. Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney was one of the first big-time visitors to the Prattville campus. South Carolina Coach Shane Beamer also made a stop. Ole Miss Coach Pete Golding, fresh off leading the Rebels to the Final Four of the College Football Playoff, was present on Wednesday, along with Prattville legend and Virginia Tech Cornerbacks Coach Nick Perry.
But Thursday might have been the biggest recruiting day of any school in the Elmore-Autauga area in a long time. Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer was there along with Alabama defensive line coach Freddie Roach. Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart arrived by helicopter. Auburn Head Coach Alex Golesh and Florida Head Coach Jon Sumrall were both present on Thursday also. Tulane’s defensive line coach Landius Wilkerson was also at Prattville.
“Having four SEC coaches on campus (at the same time) speaks volumes about the talent in our program and the culture we’re building. I think it reflects the respect our players and program have earned in just a short period of time,” said Prattville Head Coach Bobby Carr.
The Prattville roster features several high level prospects from the Class of 2027, to include 4-star safety Jayden Aparicio-Bailey, defensive linemen Ricardo Parker and Elijah Brown, along with wide receiver Deshawn Hall and offensive lineman Watson Kidd. Aparicio-Bailey and Kidd are both scheduled to attend Alabama’s Junior Day this weekend.
