The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Elmore County Public Schools and PH&J Architects, hosted a well-attended Morning Brew event earlier today, Oct. 15, 2025, at Stanhope Elmore High School.
The morning brew highlighted the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Junior Ambassador program at SEHS. Students of the Junior Ambassador program partner with local businesses to job shadow and learn in person from these businesses to gain real-life experience to prepare them for the job force and beyond during their senior year of high school.
“As you can see, we have a lot more Junior Ambassadors this year than we have ever had. We have 31 students participating in the program this year,” said Brenda Dennis, Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce President.
During the morning brew, each junior ambassador was allowed to introduce themselves and talk about the plans they have for after graduation and what field of study they plan to pursue. Each student was confident and laser-focused on what they intended to achieve after graduating, which inspired all who attended.
David Jones, Chairman of Elmore County Public Schools, announced the International Baccalaureate Program for high school students. Jones stated that this program would be supported by all four high schools in Elmore County and would provide opportunities for community service and critical thinking.
This program would require students to complete a 4,000-word essay and provide students with the opportunity to learn within this worldwide organization. Jones stated that the program would start out with high school, but that the opportunities for middle school and elementary schools are available as well.
“We really appreciate the opportunity to partner with the schools in the Millbrook community, the city, and the county,” said Pamela Hall of PH&J Architects.
