Autauga Education Foundation is heading up the “We Give 180” campaign with Autauga County Schools. This initiative is to help support funding for schools in the program within Autauga County.
The Autauga Education Foundation structures giving in a way that allows sponsors to give $1 a day to help support school funding for the 180 days that they are in session. Their tag line is “Making a difference by giving $1 a day.”
Nelda Sorrells, Autauga Education Foundation board member, says, “We are excited to launch the 180 Campaign. All funds we raise are to benefit Autauga County Schools and are designed to support every school in our system. With students in class roughly 180 days each year, we’re asking our community to consider a one-time donation of $180, just $1 per school day, to help ease the burden on teachers in the classroom.”
Those who want to support can give a one-time donation or have the option to give annually. There are options for individuals to give as well as businesses to offer sponsorships. There is a sponsorship commitment form on their website that is printable and can be turned in at Autauga Education Foundation at 131 N Court Street in Prattville.
“Whether it’s local businesses, parents, or grandparents, everyone can play a role in supporting our students. Contributions of any amount make a difference, and businesses or families can sponsor multiple students if they choose. There are corporate sponsorships available for multiple students,” says Sorrells.
According to the website, individuals who contribute will receive a member sticker and be recognized on the Autauga Education Foundation’s website and social media pages. Businesses that donate will also have their logo featured on the Foundation’s website.
If someone wishes to donate but not become a 180 campaign sponsor, they are welcome to give to the general fund and can do that through www.autaugaef.org/donate.
