ELMORE COUNTY, Ala— The Elmore County Economic Development Authority (ECEDA) is proud to welcome anglers from across the nation to Lake Jordan for the Fishers of Men (FOM) National Tournament Trail’s Fenwick Legacy Series Championship, set for July 25–26, 2025 in Wetumpka.
Founded in 1998, Fishers of Men began as a four-division tournament series hosting just 21 events. Today, it stands as one of the largest competitive fishing organizations in the United States, offering five distinct tournament series that attract anglers of every age, skill level, and competitive drive.
“Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a young enthusiast, Fishers of Men offers a series that fits your passion and level of competition,” said Danny East, Sales and Marketing Director of FOM. “We foster a family-friendly, kid-safe environment where everyone is welcome to enjoy the outdoors, create lasting memories, and forge new friendships. Join us and experience the joy of competitive fishing in a welcoming atmosphere.”
The Legacy Series Championship serves as a key economic driver for Elmore County, aligning with ECEDA’s mission to grow the local economy by attracting tourism and commerce. The tournament is expected to draw more than 100 competitors from 13 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
“The economic impact of events like the Fenwick Legacy Series Championship extends beyond the water,” said Lisa Van Wagner, Executive Director of ECEDA. “Anglers and their families will be staying in our hotels, dining in local restaurants, fueling up at gas stations, and shopping at area businesses. These dollars directly support our community and highlight why hosting national events is such a win for Elmore County.”
Teams needed only to compete in one Legacy Series regular-season event in 2025 to qualify for this national championship. The final registration deadline is July 19, 2025. A Basscat Bobcat/Mercury 150 ProXS package, valued at $42,000, will be given away during the championship event.
