Board of Education
The Elmore County Board of Education (ECBOE) is pleased to invite proposals for high-quality, innovative, start-up public charter schools seeking to open in the 2026-2027 school year. ECBOE is particularly interested in proposals that addresses the following educational priorities:
• Closing the achievement gap of special education and general education students, specifically in the areas of reading and math
• Increasing academic opportunities for all students, including but not limited to special needs, at-risk and English Language Learners, in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
• Demonstrate that the expectations set forth can be met in a financially sound and responsible manner, within the financial resources allocated to the charter school under Act No. 2015-3 2024. The link to the portal will be posted on the Elmore County Board of Education Facebook page and website beginning on November 1, 2024.
All applications must be submitted via the application portal. The application portal will open to receive applications beginning November 1, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. CST and will close at 11:59 p.m. CST December 2, 2024.
Please note: Elmore County Schools will be closed the week of November 25-29th, however applications can still be submitted via the portal.
Timeline of Important Dates
Nov. 1, 2024 – Application portal opens.
Dec. 2, 2024 – Application due to authorizer via the portal.
Dec. 2, 2024 – Review window for to consider applications.
Jan. 31, 2024 – Decision from authorizer.
