A crowd swarmed to the grounds of the Alabama Wildlife Federation recently for the annual State Finals Wild Game Cook Off event held in Millbrook Aug. 10.
There was plenty of entertainment, a silent auction, and of course some marvelous tasting of dishes prepared. Those present for the competition came from all across the state, as finalists in the event. They began early, using their culinary talents to impress judges and the crowd alike.
At the end of the night these winners were selected.
1st Place – Loosen Your Blackbelt Lunch
Dish: Venison Wellington with Red Wine Reduction
Team: Pam Swanner, Rhett Hollon, Bryson McGlynn, Michael McGlynn and Ricky Albright
2nd Place- Hog Heaven
Dish: Crab Stuffed Shrimp
Team: Jody Wynn, Amber Booth, Cindy Wynn,
3rd Place- Jackson Fire Department
Dish: Smoke on the Water Red Snapper
Team: Chris Johnson, Keith Bolen, Morgan Rogers, Dent Beard
