On Sept. 28, the Millbrook Police Department and area first responders will host the 13th Annual Cops & Kids Day. This is a FREE event great for families. There will be plenty of food, fun and games for everyone to enjoy. Free T-Shirts will also be available for the kids while they last.
The department relies on donations to help provide free shirts for as many children as possible.
To do that, the department is once again asking for businesses to participate by donating $75.
“In years past businesses donating $75 have had both their name and company logo printed on the rear of the shirt,” Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said. “Due to the tremendous support from our local businesspeople and the fact that we have been fortunate enough to have many businesses donate above and beyond the amount requested, we are making one change this year.”
Businesses donating $75 will still have the name of their company printed on the back of the shirt. Businesses donating $150 or more will have their company name in larger font and (smaller) logos printed on the shirt.
This may be limited due to the number of donors versus shirt size.
“We ask that you respond prior to Sept. 16th for placement on the shirts. We will graciously accept donations in a ny amount from those not able to donate the amount requested for advertisement. Your generous donation is a tax deduction.”
The surrounding community and businesses are encouraged to participate, by having a booth or volunteering. Just remember, everything offered for the day must be free. This event draws several thousand children and their families and grows every year.
There will be multiple demonstrations throughout the day featuring multiple law enforcement officials and professionals. Area groups offer games and plenty of activities for kids and their families.
