Wetumpka, Ala. — On March 6, 2026, CrimeStoppers 215 STOP presented Corporal Kameron Ricks of the Wetumpka Police Department with the 2025 Officer of the Year Award. Chief Ed Reeves, who nominated Corporal Ricks, praised his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service. In his nomination, Chief Reeves described Ricks as “an inspiration to every member of this department.”
Corporal Ricks has served the Wetumpka Police Department for more than four years and has built a reputation for dependability, a strong work ethic, and commitment to the community. Throughout his career, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Narcotics Investigator, Patrol Supervisor, and certified SWAT Officer.
Ricks is also known for his willingness to take on additional responsibilities, assist fellow officers, and continue his professional development through ongoing training. His leadership, compassion, and steady presence have earned the respect of both peers and supervisors.
