The Autauga-Prattville Public Library has received a $2,900 grant from the Central Alabama Community Foundation to purchase an interactive FunBoard, expanding hands-on learning opportunities for local children and families.
The FunBoard, which will be available to the public starting today, April 1st, is a large, tablet-like touchscreen designed to support multiple users at once and encourage collaborative learning.
The device features more than 40 preloaded educational games, including reading and phonics activities, math challenges, brain teasers, sensory experiences, finger painting, Sudoku, and word searches.
“Bringing the FunBoard to our library reflects a continued commitment to providing innovative resources that support early literacy, critical thinking and creativity,” said APPL Director Tammy Bear. “By blending technology with education in a fun, interactive format, the FunBoard creates new opportunities for families to learn together and for children to build essential skills in an enjoyable way. It is especially beneficial for those children with developmental differences like autism and ADHD.”
Library officials say the addition will help ensure learners of all ages have access to engaging tools that promote curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
The Autauga-Prattville Public Library is located at 254 Doster St. in Prattville. For more information, visit https://www.appl.info.
