Prattville senior Dorsett Jackson accomplished a feat against Holtville that very few baseball players get to experience during their playing career. Dorsett hit for the cycle in an 11-6 victory over the Bulldogs. The Shelton State Community College commitment had a single, double, triple, and home run during the Lions victory last week.
“It felt good to hit for the cycle,” said Jackson. “I didn’t even realize it happened until after the double on my last at-bat. I just kept it simple and tried to hit the ball hard. I don’t really care about the outcome as long as I put a good swing on it and hit it hard, which is the goal every time I step up to the plate.”
The Lions have started the season strong with a record of 16-1. Jackson is batting over 400 and leading Prattville in RBIs. While hitting for the cycle is an impressive accomplishment, it’s not something that he’s focused on moving forward.
“I don’t really play for the accomplishments,” said Jackson. “I just want to play to the best of my abilities and win every time I’m on the field.”
