Millbrook City Council approved Betty Ann’s Karaoke Bar’s request for an Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) license, March 10, 2026, during their regular meeting, following a public hearing on the request.
Located at 73 Wisteria Place, Betty Ann’s is preparing for a grand opening in April. The business plans to serve wine and liquor to the public, making an ABC license a necessary step before opening.
“We plan to keep this a very plain, adult family-centered atmosphere,” said Michelle Johnson, co-owner of Betty Ann’s. “We have actually provided services for 15 years to other places, and we’re looking forward to serving Millbrook full-time.”
Johnson’s husband, who also owns Betty Ann’s, provided the history behind the business.
“My mom was a waitress for 25 years, and every night, when she got off, she went straight to a karaoke bar, so I’m doing this for her,” said Don Johnson. “It’s all about my mom because she loved karaoke, so that’s what I’m going to do for her.”
The council’s only question for the business owners concerned their hours of operation, which will be from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Following the public hearing, the council unanimously approved Betty Ann’s ABC license.
