Montgomery resident arrested pursuant to altercation in municipal court

From: Chief P.K. Johnson

Millbrook Police Department

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, during a session of the Millbrook Municipal Court, a defendant, who was present before the Court with regard to an alleged traffic violation, became irate, causing a disruption in the court. As Millbrook police officers, assigned to the Court Security Detail, responded to remove the defendant from the courtroom, the defendant, later identified as Dalvin D. White, a 30-year-old Montgomery resident, physically resisted officer’s efforts to take him into custody, allegedly spitting upon one of the officers during the altercation. Officers successfully deployed a Taser device, after which the alleged offender was taken into custody and removed from the courtroom. Per Millbrook Municipal Judge Bradley Ekdahl, White was taken into custody for Contempt of Court, being sentenced to 5 days in the Elmore County Jail. White was processed and transported to the Elmore County Jail, without incident.

Due to his actions, White will face additional charges of Assault with Bodily Fluids, Assault 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest. Warrants have been secured against the alleged offender and they will be served upon him after the completion of his current jail sentence for Contempt of Court, at which time the alleged offender will have an opportunity to make bond on those cases and be assigned a court date to answer to his charges.

I had an opportunity to speak with this young man, prior to him being transported to the Elmore County Jail following his arrest on Thursday afternoon. While I understand someone being upset about an unfavorable outcome in a court case, there is absolutely never an excuse to behave in this manner, especially in a courtroom full of people, to include law enforcement and court officials, all of whom witnessed this outburst and subsequent arrest as the events unfolded. One of our officers sustained a minor injury to his hand, while another was subjected to being spit upon, which is about the most degrading and disrespectful thing that you do to another human being. I want to commend our officers for their restraint and professionalism during their response to this incident.

This type of behavior will not be tolerated in our City, most certainly it will not be tolerated in our Municipal Court. The only fighting permissible in a court of law is the attorneys arguing case law, which is as it should be. Actions have consequences, which unfortunately the alleged offender in this case is about to experience, as his cases progress through the court system.
