Alabama One Credit Union celebrates 75 years this year. In doing so, the company decided that they wanted to give back with a nod to 75 years by giving back to the local community and donating back to a local nonprofit. They confidently chose to give back to Millbrook’s local food pantry, The Welcome Food Pantry. Alabama One chose to stick with the theme of celebrating 75 years of business by donating $750 dollars to the local Welcome Food Pantry in Millbrook and a promise to be a part of serving and volunteering this year.
“The Welcome Food Pantry has been just an integral part of our community.” Stated Hal Hodge, Southeast Senior Vice President and area executive of Alabama One Credit Union in Millbrook.
Hodge presented the donation and check to the Welcome Food Pantry that was graciously accepted by Executive Director, Michael Lambert along with board member, Courtney Story and board member Philip Harris. The Welcome Food Pantry was touched by the sentiment and grateful for the donation.
Alabama One Credit Union has thirty-one total branches and originated in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
“A big milestone for Alabama One, 75 years. We started in 1951 in Tuscaloosa TRW tire plant, and it has been a long ride,” stated Hodge.
The 75-year celebration will continue throughout this year and is being celebrated with t-shirts for purchase and door prizes that you can enter for at your local branch. All proceeds from shirt sales go back to Credit Union Advocacy. The Millbrook branch is located at 3390 AL-14 in Millbrook and was the kick-off location for this year’s celebrations.
