The Elmore County Family Resource Center (ECFRC) was honored and surprised to receive a generous donation, Dec. 30, 2025, through the Make the Change program at Wind Creek Casino in Wetumpka. During the check presentation, ECFRC was awarded $19,450.35, a meaningful investment in the families they serve in Elmore County.
In the past, Make the Change donations have often been shared between two local organizations during a single presentation. This time, the contribution was designated solely for ECFRC.
“These funds play a vital role in supporting our mission, particularly by helping offset required cash match obligations tied to several of our grants. Specifically, this donation will assist in sustaining parent education classes and other essential programs designed to strengthen families, promote stability, and support long-term self-sufficiency,” said Executive Director Chrissy Boshell.
Boshell said ECFRC extends their gratitude to Wind Creek Casino and the Make the Change program for their continued commitment to supporting local nonprofits and making a lasting impact on our community. Their generosity will directly impact the center’s service to families, helping build a stronger Elmore County.
“I am incredibly grateful for our dedicated staff whose hard work and commitment ensure our programs run smoothly each day, and for the partnerships we build together that allow us to continue serving as ‘hope dealers’ for families across Elmore County,” said Boshell.
