On Wednesday, BWS Technologies sponsored the Prattville Chamber’s end of the year monthly luncheon. BWS technologies offers computer & technology services, network & phone systems, as well as website and digital marketing solutions. BWS Technologies is
co-owned by Bill Youngblood and he opened today’s luncheon with prayer and an introduction.

The guest speaker, Autauga County Superintendent, Lyman Woodfin addressed updates for Autauga County Schools and plans for the future. Part of these updates were to discuss the state report card.

“The state report card is the measuring stick for schools across the state,” said Woodfin.

The scores of Autauga County schools and the categories of improvement were discussed during the meeting.
Woodfin notes that Autauga County Schools scored an 87 with the state and an overall improvement in a few key areas.

The superintendent shared that absenteeism was down and enrollment was stabilized. The college & career readiness scored 9.89 points higher and chronic absenteeism was down 4.88 points. All categories scored, positively reflect the work being done by Woodfin, school families and all Autauga County School employees. The state’s report card numbers show that these families and administration are dialed in and committed for further improvements.

Woodfin stated, “We have to create a model that people want to come to.”

Part of this commitment on changes and improvements will depend on community support. In addition to the support and commitment to improvements to Autauga County Schools, there is a specific focus and mission to raise funds for teachers and students in the classroom. One easy way to support this mission is to support the We give 180 campaign with the Autauga Education Foundation.

This campaign asks for a commitment of a $1 a day for 180 school days. A donation of $180 dollars will support one student for the year in the classroom. There are a few ways to donate and donations can be made through a link online at the Autauga Education Foundation’s website at
