Jade Skinner began her new leadership role as Executive Director of the Elmore County Food Pantry on June 24th, 2025. Skinner states “I didn’t necessarily choose this job. This job most definitely chose me by the Lord’s will.”

The Elmore County Food Pantry was established in 2008 by Charles Chamblee of Victory Temple Church in Wetumpka. This food pantry has a facility in Wetumpka but also provides home delivery as well.

Skinner also shared, “At one time in my life, I was in a situation where I needed the food pantry, and I didn’t know it existed.” Skinner goes on to say, “Now that you know, tables have turned, I am in a much better place than I was then. I am able to be the director of the food pantry and help people who are in a place just like me now. I will hopefully help them get on their feet and do better things with their life.”

If you are wanting to help the community and ready to end hunger in Elmore County, there are opportunities to volunteer at the facility. There is a volunteer tab on their website where specific positions and areas of help are posted as needed. The website notes that there is always a need for projects that require construction expertise.

If you need services or know someone in need, please don’t hesitate to reach out or stop by the food pantry. There is a team that is ready and willing to help!

Their office is located at 515 West Boundary Street in Wetumpka. They are open on Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and close on Sundays and Mondays. Saturdays are open by scheduled appointment only. You can call their office at (334) 567-3232.

Donations are always welcomed and accepted, and there is a link on the website for donating as well. You can donate by visiting their website at https://elmorecountyfoodpantry.org/
