Annette Funderburk appointed interim President of Chattahoochee Valley Community College

PHENIX CITY, Ala. – Annette Funderburk has been named interim president of Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) in Phenix City, as announced by Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Chancellor Jimmy Baker on Monday.

Funderburk replaces Jackie Screws, who recently retired after serving as CVCC president since 2018. Funderburk most recently served as president of Ingram State Technical College.

“During this transitional period, I have complete faith in Annette to continue the momentum Chattahoochee Valley Community College has experienced under President Screws tenure,” said Baker.  “Annette is a true leader, her experience in various roles across the will help CVCC continue to successfully serve its students and communities in East Alabama.”

CVCC, which has enjoyed a 9% increase in enrollment this fall, serves Barbour, Bullock, Lee, Macon and Russell Counties.

Funderburk’s appointment is effective immediately.
