On Friday, November 7th, 2025, the City of Millbrook hosted its Veterans’ Day Appreciation Ceremony at the Millbrook Civic Center. This is a yearly event to honor American military veterans in the community for their service, sacrifice, and dedication. This event was open to all veterans and community supporters.
“Today we gather as a community, friends, family, and neighbors. We gather to honor the men and women among us who have worn the uniform of our country. There are classmates, coworkers, church members, parents, grandparents, our sons, and our daughters. They are living reminders of the courage and the sacrifice to protect the freedoms that we enjoy every day,” said Master of Ceremonies, Reverend Dr. Brannon Bowman.
Reverend Janet Krantz of Robinson Springs Church delivered the invocation. The Alabama Troop 125 Trail Life presented the colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Trail Life and the American Heritage Girls. Jim Brumbelow gave a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.
“The true guests of honor today are the veterans who are here with us. This day is dedicated to you and your families for all you have given to our country and to the United States of America as a whole. The example you’ve set, and the values you’ve passed on to our young people, are an incredible honor and a blessing. It means so much to our community, which is truly a great one,” said Mayor Al Kelley.
Kelley then introduced the officials who were in attendance. Representative Jerry Starnes, Council President Michael Gay, Councilwoman Jacquelyn Thomas, and Councilman Chris Bath. The Veterans Proclamation reading and presentation was given by Mayor Al Kelley at the end of the ceremony. Lunch was served for all guests in attendance.
