MONTGOMERY – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, has claimed the life of a Billingsley woman. Jessica Fortenberry, 54, who was a passenger in a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country van was fatally injured when the Chrysler left the roadway and struck a tree. Fortenberry was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chrysler, Jaynell M. Peters, 57, of Thorsby, was also injured and transported to University of Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Chilton County 37 near Chilton County 76, approximately two miles southwest of Clanton, in Chilton County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
