Alabama State Youth Leaders Host First Community Service Project for HBDA

Alabama State Youth Leaders

In their very first initiative as a group, the Alabama State Youth Leaders chose to give back through a community service project raising awareness and funds for Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders of Alabama (HBDA). The cause was close to home — one of the Youth Leader members has both a brother and mother living with von Willebrand Disease — and the group quickly and enthusiastically selected HBDA as their focus.

The Youth Leaders worked hard to spread the word about HDBA and the family-friendly bowling event across the state, and their efforts paid off. Fifty supporters traveled from Prattville, Montgomery, Eva, Alabaster, Dutton, Hoover, Elmore, Birmingham, Gadsden, Northport, and Buhl, Alabama to take part in a fun and meaningful event held on Sunday, October 12th at Bama Lanes Montgomery.

The afternoon kicked off with Garrett May throwing out the ceremonial first ball. Guests enjoyed cupcakes, music, and a variety of door prizes including bowling socks, towels, gift cards, and even a handmade crocheted Fred Flintstone.

Bowling trophies were awarded to the Event Champions: Caiden Hall, Brittaney Kabani, Dylan Ragland, and Matt Ragland. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, the event raised $540 for HBDA — a wonderful start for the Alabama State Youth Leaders’ journey of service and leadership.
