Wade Newman is proud to announce his candidacy for Prattville City Council, District 1, in the upcoming municipal election on August 26, 2025.
Newman is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class who served 20 years as an Infantryman. His advanced training includes Airborne, Ranger, Instructor, and Drill Sergeant qualifications. He held leadership roles as a Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant, deploying globally, including two peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and the Sinai.
Following his military career, Newman earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and built a professional background in global security, business continuity, and emergency preparedness. He currently serves as Director of Global Resiliency for a Boston based technology company, where he oversees global operations and crisis response. As a security and resiliency professional, he has contributed directly to employee safety, developed emergency plans for high-risk environments, and helped organizations navigate major disruptions. His investigative work has led to the recovery of millions of dollars in stolen property, and he has coordinated with local, federal, and international law enforcement agencies on fraud cases, threat mitigation, and operational security.
A Prattville native, Newman returned home and has remained active in public service. He currently serves on the Industrial Development Board, the E911 Emergency Communications Board, the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and the Advisory Board for the Alabama Department of Youth Services (Autauga Campus). He is also involved with the Military and Governmental Affairs Committees of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.
“My goal is to bring experienced leadership to District 1 focused on strong public schools, smart growth, public safety, and making sure our city leadership adapts to the ever-changing needs of the city”.
Election Day is Tuesday, August 26. District 1 voters will cast ballots at the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.
