Tallassee: Two in custody in connection with shooting into vehicle, injuring children

Two men are in custody, charged with Attempted Murder, in connection with the shooting into a vehicle in Tallassee Tuesday, injuring a child.

Jartavious Jackson, 25, of Tallassee and Devonte Tyus, 20, of Tallassee are currently being held at the Elmore County Jail, each with a $280,000 bond according to Elmore County Jail records.

The shooting took place Monday around 5 p.m. on Alabama Highway 229. When First Responders arrived, they found a 9-month-old and two-year-old with non-life threatening injuries related to the shooting into the occupied vehicle

Jackson is charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Gun into an Occupied Building. He was booked into the jail at 2:27 p.m. May 21.

Tyus is charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Gun into an Occupied Building. He was booked into jail at 12:01 a.m. May 21.

This incident remains under investigation by the Tallassee Police Department. No further information is immediately available.
