W.W. (Washington) CARTER Cabin – OAHS has approved a special project to try and help save this historic home which is owned by the Nugent Family.
This original cabin was built in the 1840s. It was later added on to. This cabin was the home of W.W. (Wash) Carter and his wife Charity Parilee Culp. Wash was a veteran of the Civil War. This Carter Family were the founders of the town of Billingsley. This is the oldest surviving structure in Billingsley and MUST be saved.
OAHS will work to get this home added to the state historic register and to raise funding to mark it with a roadside historic marker.
