This holiday season, there’s an abundance of festivities happening throughout the River Region. Below is a list copied from various events happening in the area from Facebook. With Christmas just around the corner, remember to shop small to support the local community.

Prattville: 

Santa Fly-in – December 1 from 1-3 p.m. at Cloud9 aviation 

Join us for snacks with Santa and Mrs. Claus. They will land around 1:15 and a surprise guest will be flying in around 1:30. We will have games and prizes for the kids and ornament decorating. Admission is $5 and goes to the Family Support Center. The Sweet Hook-up will have their food truck there from 12:30-3:00. It’s always such fun to see the children jumping and shouting when the plane lands and Mr. and Mrs. Claus disembark. Make plans to join us!

Christmas Open House by the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce – December 4 at 11 a.m. 

Join us Wednesday, December 4th from 11:00AM- 1:00PM for our Christmas Open House! This is a time for us to express our gratitude and appreciation for the confidence you place in us. This annual event allows us all to slow down during the busy holiday season and come together to reflect on the accomplishments of the year and to celebrate our Chamber Community. 

In that spirit, we invite you to stop by for a quick bite or have a seat and stay awhile, enjoy some delicious food, networking and holiday cheer and laughter with your fellow business owners, chamber members, community leaders and volunteers. 

It’s our way of saying “Thank You” for investing in the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce and our community. We look forward to seeing you!  

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – December 5, at 7 p.m. at Spillway Park  

The City of Prattville will kick off the Christmas Season with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 5th at 7pm at Spillway Park. 

A special visitor will arrive immediately after the tree is lit, to listen to the wishes of all the little boys and girls. And there is a 100% chance of snow! This event is free and open to the public. 

Annual Christmas Parade – December 6 at 7 p.m. at Downtown Prattville  

Prattville’s Annual Christmas Parade will roll out from the Autauga County Courthouse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, December 6th. Lights, marching bands, dancers, candy, beads and trinkets will be abundant as the parade travels through downtown Prattville, with the jolly old elf himself making a visit to Prattville. 

There will be a NO PARKING downtown along South Court Street and Main Streets beginning on December 6th, from 3:00-10:00 p.m. 

The Santa Drop – December 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bradford YMCA in Prattville   

Here Comes Santa Claus – Get Ready for the Thrilling Santa Drop in Prattville! 

**Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7th!  Join us at the Willis Bradford YMCA in Prattville for the Santa Drop Holiday Festival, where you’ll witness Santa Claus and the Grinch skydiving right onto the field! It’s set to be the season’s most festive event, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!  

**Hosted by AT Home Real Estate Team affiliated with KW Montgomery, I AM Roofing, and Renasant Bank**, this free event is open to the community and packed with activities, giveaways, delicious treats, and more!

A Main Street Christmas – December 10 from 5:30-6:45 in Downtown Prattville  

The City of Prattville is partnering with the Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown merchants for the 9th annual A Main Street Christmas on Tuesday, December 10th. 

Shop local small businesses for the perfect Christmas gift and then enjoy horse drawn carriage rides, carolers, hot chocolate and cookies, children’s make and take art projects, dancers, music and more, plus a visit from Santa! The event is from 5:00-7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. 

Cocoa & Characters – December 10 from 5-7:30 p.m. at The Way Off Broadway Theatre 203 W. 4th St. in Prattville 

Come have a cup of cocoa and meet some of your favorite holiday characters! And take a picture, too! 

Prattville Christmas Concert – December 13 at 7 p.m. at the Doster Community Center 

Prattville’s Annual Christmas Concert showcases the vocal and musical talents of the Prattville Community Chorus and Pops Band. This year’s joint concert will be held at Doster Memorial Community Center on Friday, December 13, 2024. 

This is a free event for friends and families to enjoy! 

Old Kingston Christmas Parade – December 14 at 3 p.m. 

Parade ends at the Old Kingston Fire Department 

Christmas Around the World – December 20 from 6-8 p.m. at 424 Northington St. in Prattville  

Come join the Autauga Prattville Public Library at the Doster Community Center on Friday, December 20th from 6pm -8pm. We will have games and crafts that make learning about Christmas celebrations around the world fun. Cookies, hot chocolate and of course Santa Claus will be here for photos! 

Millbrook: 

Spirit of Christmas Tree Lighting – December 5, at 5 p.m. at Village Green Park  

City of Millbrook Annual Christmas Tree Lighting…there will be caroling, food trucks, hot chocolate bar, synchronized Christmas Lights & Music show, and City Tree Lighting. Bring your lawn chairs & blankets. SNOW IS PREDICTED! Activities will begin at 5pm and Tree Lighting Ceremony starts promptly at 6pm. This event is FREE & open to the public. 

Spirit of Christmas Festival and Parade – December 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Village Green Park  

Everyone is invited to join us for the City of Millbrook’s Spirit of Christmas Festival & Parade. Festival hours are 9 am – 4 pm. There will be a wide variety of products and food vendors to take care of al your holiday shopping and fill your bellies. The Parade starts at 2 pm with tons of fun floats/ entries and loads of candy and other goodies thrown along the route. This event is free and open to the public.  

Christmas at the ANC – December 7 from 9:30 -2 p.m. at the Alabama Nature Center in Millbrook 

Join us for our 17th annual Christmas at the Alabama Nature Center. Enjoy hayrides, Christmas crafts, decorating cookies, a movie special and much more! Learn how to create your own nature ornament, get pictures with Santa, enjoy our Christmas movie special, and make sure to go on the hay ride!  Christmas is always fun here at the ANC, we will have hot chocolate for sale and plenty of activities to keep you warm. Bring your camera and take a picture with jolly Ol’ Saint Nick! Saturday, December 7th activities from 9:30am-2:00pm  

Join us on Thursday, December 12th 10:45am-2:00pm 

Christmas is just around the corner, and Santa is visiting the Alabama Nature Center! Enjoy a sleigh ride, create a festive ornament, embark on a nature hike, participate in story time, and snap a photo with Santa after sharing your holiday wishes! This magical day was inspired by the beloved book “Bear Snores On” by Karma Wilson. 

$12/student | No charge for chaperones (All participants must have a chaperone) 

Program time is 11:30am-2:00pm 

*You can bring a picnic lunch and arrive at 10:45am to eat before the program begins or if you eat lunch before arrival, you should arrive no later than 11:15am to check in. The program will begin promptly at 11:30 am! 

*Only children who purchase a ticket will be permitted to participate in the program activities to ensure plenty of supplies are on hand, including visiting with Santa, etc. 

Holiday Photography moments with Kringle – December 8 from 5-8 p.m. at Successful Connections in Millbrook, 2472 Main St.

Breakfast with Santa at Front Porch Grill – December 14 starting at 7 a.m. 

7th Annual Breakfast with Santa & The Grinch! Join us at Front Porch Grill for a magical morning of holiday cheer! Bring the family and enjoy a delicious breakfast while making memories with Santa and The Grinch! Don’t miss this festive tradition that warms hearts and fills bellies. 

Wetumpka: 

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – December 6, at 6 p.m. at 100 E Commerce St, Wetumpka 

Join us for a magical evening as we illuminate the Christmas season in Wetumpka! The annual Christmas Tree Lighting is a cherished tradition held during A Downtown Dickens Christmas, bringing the community together to celebrate with holiday cheer. 

Enjoy festive music, the sparkle of lights, and the joy of the season as the historic courthouse square transforms into a Dickensian wonderland. Participants are encouraged to embrace the spirit by dressing in Victorian attire or other festive costumes. Gather your family and friends for this heartwarming kickoff to the holidays! 

A Downtown Dickens Christmas – December 6 and 7, at 5 p.m. at116 E Bridge St. Wetumpka  

Join the Wetumpka Area Chamber in collaboration with the City of Wetumpka and Main Street Wetumpka for a two-night community event as we celebrate the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and enjoy a Victorian Christmas in historic downtown Wetumpka! A Downtown Dickens Christmas will be held on December 6th and 7th from 5:00 pm- 8:00pm, where we hope you are transported back to scenes from “A Christmas Carol” with period costumes, photos with Father Christmas, authentic vendors, and decorated downtown businesses. 

Wetumpka Holiday Market – December 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 304 E. Coosa St. in Wetumpka

Christmas on the Coosa – December 14, an all-day event  

Join us for one of Wetumpka’s most beloved holiday traditions, Christmas on the Coosa! This year’s theme, ‘Jingle Bells & Gingerbread,’ promises a day full of Christmas magic, community spirit, and festive cheer for the whole family. With a lineup of exciting activities from morning to night, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! 

Schedule of Events: 
• Character Breakfast: Enjoy holiday fun at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. 
• Gold Star Park Entertainment: Performances start at 11:30 AM. 
• Arts & Crafts & Food Vendors: Shop unique items and savor tasty food from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM. 
• Car Show: View classic cars from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. 
• Children’s Activities: Fun for kids from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. 
• Christmas Parade: Watch festive floats light up town at 6:00 PM. 
• Water Skiing Santa & Fireworks: Santa skis at 7:30 PM, followed by fireworks!

Pine Level    

Friends & Family of the Town of Pine Level & the Pine Level Community – 

On Sunday, December 1, we will be setting up our FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE for the Tree Lighting on December 8.  

Please join us in sharing an ornament representing your family. These will be used in future years as well.  

1st Tree Lighting – December 8 at 4 p.m. at the Pine Level Community Center 

Join us for the Town of Pine Level’s FIRST Christmas Tree Lighting! It will be a heartwarming evening for our Town and Community. There will be a combined choir of over 100 students from Pine Level Elementary School, Marbury Middle School, and Marbury High School take the stage! 
Bring TWO non-perishable food items to donate to the Autauga Interfaith Care Center. Collection boxes will be at the Community Center steps. There will be some very special guests arriving on a fire truck! 

The First Christmas parade – December 14 at 11 a.m. 

Come share in the holiday spirit as our wonderful community comes together in joy and song. With performances from our local churches and groups to bring in some Christmas cheer. Of course, you know Santa will be there for pictures and getting those final wish lists in before Christmas. So come on out and enjoy this happy holiday season with us. We hope to see you all there!

This is a day celebrating “The First Christmas” for the Town of Pine Level. 

The day begins with Vendors and Food Trucks being set up at Spirit Walk Ministries from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 
The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. beginning at the Pine Level Community Center. It will travel on County Road 40, turning onto County Road 107 and ending at Spirit Walk Ministries where Vendors and Food Trucks will be set u
