This weekend marks the fourth anniversary of the Operation Blue Santa motorcycle ride, hosted by the Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Three River Chapter, of Elmore County.

For the past 20-plus years, the Millbrook Police Department has always raised money or taken donations to make sure area kids have something special for Christmas morning. Over the years that project has grown exponentially with the help of area businesses, churches and individuals.

Four years ago, the Punishers LEMC of Elmore County joined in fundraising. Since that time thousands of dollars have been raised through fundraisers, including this weekend’s Blue Santa Ride.

Punishers LEMC is an international motorcycle club made up of law enforcement, first responders and military personnel. They have chapters across the country and the world.

This year members from as far away as Canada and many states have made their way to Millbrook for this event. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to donate to the Operation Blue Santa Cause.

The Punishers International President is John Boyan, and he is a regular attendee of this event. This year is no different, and he will be participating in all activities this weekend.

Tonight is the Pre-Party at the Punishers’ local Clubhouse off Friendly Pine Road. It is located at the end of the storage building facility at the intersection of Friendly Pine and Hwy.14 in Elmore.

At around 5 p.m. today riders began gathering at the clubhouse after being led on a ride by Millbrook Police officers. This evening the clubhouse is open to the public, but you must be at least 21 years of age to visit the clubhouse.

There will be live music, food, a silent auction, raffles and much more. There is a chance to win a custom motorcycle, and many more amazing items.

No outside drinks are allowed. There will be two bands performing with The Ashley Morgan Band and The Rock Mob. There will be food trucks, axe throwing, strong man/woman contest and bikini bike wash girls.

But that is just the Pre Party.

On Saturday is the Blue Santa official ride. Registration is from noon to 3 p.m. at Hardley Davidson of Montgomery. The Gunmen Band will be performing during registration. The ride will begin at 3:30 p.m.

The cost to participate in the ride is $30 for rider and $20 for passenger. This includes a T-shirt for each while supplies last. The ride will end at the Punishers’ clubhouse where there will be two more full bands. They are Parris and Jeff & The Johnson who will be rocking the stage all night.

Included Saturday is door prizes, raffle items, 50/50 and auction items. Food trucks will be on site along with bikini bike wash girls. The axe throwing booths will be open and the strongest man and woman will be crowned. Again, participants must be 21 years of age to attend, and outside drinks are not allowed.

There will be a $15 charge per person for the after party for non-ride participants.
