Several softball teams and players in Autauga County had success in the Alabama High School Athletic Association during the 2024 season. Prattville Christian Academy made the State Tournament in Class 4A while Marbury made the State Tournament in Class 5A.
Individually, Prattville’s Kaytie Chandler was named Honorable Mention for Class 7A All State. Marbury’s Addyson Jarman was named 2nd Team All State for Class 5A, while PCA’s Laura Beth NeSmith was named 2nd Team All State for Class 4A, and Kandice Crosby was Honorable Mention All State for Class 4A. Billingsley junior Sadie Primm was named 1st Team All State for Class 1A.
Below is a list of the top softball players in Autauga County based on statistics provided by coaches and coaches’ recommendations.
1st Team All Autauga County Softball Team
Sadie Primm, Billingsley – In addition to being named Class 1A 1st Team All State, the junior was also named Class 1A Hitter of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association after a dominant 2024 season in which she batted .518 and had 57 total hits with 13 home runs and 52 RBIs.
Addyson Jarman, Marbury – The senior led the Bulldogs with a .560 batting average. She also led the team in hits, home runs, and RBIs, and is committed to play in college at Faulkner University.
Kaytie Chandler, Prattville – Chandler pitched 72 innings for the Class 7A Lions, posting 106 strikeouts with a 2.23 earned run average.
Laura NeSmith, Prattville Christian Academy – The junior pitcher had a 15-2 record for the Panthers and an ERA of 1.145 with 113 strikeouts.
Elizabeth Woodin, Marbury – Woodfin had an ERA of 1.43 and pitched 58.2 innings according to Max Preps statistics, perhaps none bigger than pitching two complete games against Demopolis in the area tournament, striking out 28 and only allowing one hit.
Alivia Messick, Prattville Christian Academy – Messick pitched 108.2 innings for the Panthers with 156 strikeouts and an earned run average of 1.997. The junior has more than 500 strikeouts in her career at PCA.
Claire Seamon, Billingsley – The junior shortstop had to move to center field to help the Bears during the season. Seamon was second on the team with a batting average of .424, finishing with 5 doubles, 3 triples, and 21 RBIs.
Kaylee Robles, Prattville – Robles will play next season at Southern Union. As a senior, Robles had a batting average of .361 and slugging percentage of .578. She had 10 doubles, a triple, and two home runs.
Saniyah Weaver, Prattville Christian Academy – Weaver batted .402 for the Panthers with 39 hits, 12 RBIs, and 34 runs scored.
Kennedy Crum, Prattville – As a sophomore, Crum batted .323 with an on base percentage of .413. She had 30 hits and 16 RBIs for the Class 7A Lions.
Kandice Crosby, Prattville Christian Academy – Crosby had a .446 batting average with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs for the Panthers as just a sophomore.
Skylar Barks, Marbury – After an injury to Woodfin in the Class 5A Central Regional, Barks had one of the biggest performances of her high school career. She pitched four games, winning all four, with an earned run average of 1.419 and 25 strikeouts, propelling the Bulldogs to the Class 5A State Tournament.
Peyton Thrash, Prattville Christian Academy – Just a freshman, Thrash had a .373 average with a slugging percentage of .490, to go along with 38 hits, 2 home runs, and 23 RBIs.
