The Prattville Police Department is investigating a theft by fraudulent leasing case and seeks the public’s help with identifying the suspect.
Prattville Police Investigators released photos of an unknown suspect wanted for a theft investigation. Investigators say the offense occurred, on May 11, 2024, at a U-Haul Rental Business located on South Memorial Drive, Prattville, AL.
Investigators say the pictured suspect rented a U-Haul utilizing a fake ID that was created online. The photo on the ID is not the same as the male pictured. The suspect went by the fake name of Joshua Hawthrone, from California. Investigators say the suspect used a fake ID to steal a U-Haul vehicle.
Investigators say the U-Haul was found abandoned in South Carolina on May 23, 2024. There are no other details available for release at this time.
