The Alabama Department of Transportation will hold a public involvement meeting on Tuesday January 30th, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. This will be in an open-house style format at the Prattville City Hall for modifications along Cobbs Ford Road in Elmore County but Prattville City limits.
ALDOT is looking for public involvement from the individuals that use this route regularly to ensure the changes made are beneficial to daily commuters. However, lane closures will be necessary during construction.
The proposed changes are to improve the flow of traffic by modifying access on AL-6 (US -82) from Bass Pro Boulevard to the I-65 southbound ramp in Elmore County, Prattville city limits.
This project would modify the existing median opening into the left-turn, right-turn and U-turn lanes and remove a redundant driveway according to ALDOT. No additional right-of-way would be required from this location.
This meeting will be available in-person and have online public involvement, but in-person is preferred, an ALDOT spokesperson confirms. This meeting is meant to inform the public of the design features of the project and inform Prattville and Elmore County residents of the changes to come.
ALDOT will receive public comments until 10 days after the meeting for review. All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, February 9.
This meeting is wheelchair accessible. However, if any individuals require special assistance or have a disability and would like to attend the meeting, they should contact the Region office or call 334-353-6874 at least two business days prior to the meeting.
