The Alexander City Police Department continues their investigation of a Murder that occurred at or near Highway 9 in Coosa County. Alexander City Police Department Investigators and Investigators from the Coosa County Sheriff Department are still searching for answers after 27 years and still believe that someone is holding information that might help bring closure to the family of Chanty Shiverdecker.

On December 9, 1994, Chanty Shiverdecker was reported missing from Alexander City.

On February 24, 1995, Ms. Shiverdecker was located deceased in Coosa County near Highway 9. A death investigation was initiated and is still ongoing to this date.
