The Millbrook Revelers organization invited all Millbrook City Employees to a luncheon Friday at the Millbrook Civic Center as a way to say “Thank You” for all the employees do to help them each year with their Mardi Gras Parade.
But it was more than that. It was a lot of thank yous piled into one day, to include their work through the Pandemic, storms, emergencies and the duties they cover day in and day out that often go unrecognized.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m. employees were invited to come by the Civic Center for either a pick up meal, or sit down lunch.
“I want to give a huge shout-out and Thank You to the Millbrook Revelers, who treated Millbrook City employees to a wonderful lunch of barbecued chicken, complete with all the fixings today,” Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said. “The food was great and the fellowship was even better. You have a first class organization, which puts on what is arguably the best Mardi Gras Parade and Festivals in our State. I know I say it often and I will continue to do so, It’s both humbling and an honor to serve a community that supports its public servants and employees. Thank you and God Bless my friends. Y’all are the Best!”

Each Mardi Gras season, the Millbrook Revelers organize and host a giant Mardi Gras Parade through downtown. It has become the largest such celebration north of Mobile. Well over 10,000 visitors pack Main Street and Village Green each year to take part. Vendors fill the park for shopping and great food options. That money is then used by the Revelers to give back to the community, including a yearly appreciation check to the City of Millbrook.
