A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a shooting inside REV convenience store at the intersection of Coosa River Parkway and U.S. Highway 14 in Wetumpka late this morning. One suspect is currently in custody, authorities said.
Wetumpka Police Department were dispatched at approximately 11:55 a.m. at the 500 block of Coosa River Parkway and Hwy 14, according to Maj. Josh Barfoot.
“Officers arrived and found one victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Baptist South in Montgomery with life-threatening injuries,” Barfoot said.
Police located a suspect at the scene and took that individual into custody.
The scene remained active for several hours as investigator crime scene technicians processed the area.
Officials said the scene has since been cleared and the store has reopened. The victim still remains in critical condition.
