The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Central Alabama Community College to host the FAME Spring Showcase, an event designed to connect students, job seekers, and community members with career opportunities in advanced manufacturing.
The showcase will take place on Monday, March 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Central Alabama Community College in Prattville. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees may come and go throughout the evening. No registration is required.
The event will highlight the college’s Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (F.A.M.E.) Industrial Automation Technician Program, a two-year technical associate degree designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving manufacturing industry. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on industry experience, ensuring graduates leave with both technical expertise and real-world workplace skills.
Through the F.A.M.E. program, students have the opportunity to earn while they learn, gaining paid work experience with leading manufacturing partners while completing their degree.
Many participants are able to significantly offset or fully cover the cost of their education through wages, financial aid, and grants.
High school seniors, recent graduates, transitioning military members, and anyone interested in pursuing a career in maintenance or manufacturing are encouraged to attend. Parents are also welcome to come learn more about the opportunities available through the program.
During the showcase, attendees will have the chance to meet with program instructors and representatives from industry partners, ask questions, and learn how the program prepares students for in-demand careers in the manufacturing sector.
“The Spring Showcase is a great opportunity for individuals and families to learn about career pathways that offer strong earning potential and hands-on experience,” said Patty VanderWal with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud to partner with Central Alabama Community College to help connect our community with programs that build a skilled workforce and open doors to meaningful careers.”
Several industry partners will be on hand during the event to discuss career opportunities and share how students in the F.A.M.E. program gain valuable real-world experience while completing their degree.
