It is said that into each life a little rain must fall. Fortunately, the heavy rain had ended by the time the inaugural Rock the Lot event kicked off in the Academy parking lot in Prattville Friday evening. What was left were a few puddles, that were a great source of entertainment for kids, and even some adults.
This inaugural event offered great music, fun, and a grand view of the fireworks display later in the evening at the Clock Tower. Thousands flooded to Prattville for the fireworks show, and there was a very healthy crowd gathered in the parking lot to enjoy the pre-festivities. The Prattville Police Department reported no serious issues on the Fourth of July, which is always great news.
This event was sponsored by City of Prattville’s Parks and Recreation Department. A special thank you to Academy Sports + Outdoors for the use of their parking lot. Thank you to True Pull Trailers for providing the stage. Entertainment was provided by the Alex Walker Band. Food Trucks consisted of: Dahlia’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Fountain City Food and Catering, The Sweet Hook Up, Taste of the Fair, Top Notch BBQ and Woody’s Italian Ice. It was a great night for community spirit and celebrating Independence Day.
