Millbrook’s Police Department hosted its 14th annual Cops N’ Kids event today with the support of The City of Millbrook. The event was held at Village Green Park, offering a day of free fun for families across the community. With activities like bounce houses, dunk tanks, K-9 demonstrations, and vehicle displays, the event was packed with excitement for kids and adults alike.
The sunny weather and engaging attractions drew a large crowd from Millbrook and surrounding areas, continuing the tradition of success for this beloved event.
Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson shared his appreciation for everyone involved: “It was a great event with beautiful weather. Thank you to every person that attended today. It was a wonderful day. We’re so thankful for our staff and their hard work that went into this event. Thank you to our local businesses and organizations that support us each year. We had a huge turnout, and it was a great success. Everyone left very happy, and that’s all we could ask for.”
The Cops N’ Kids event is designed to foster positive interactions between children and local public service workers, including police officers, firefighters, and others. Throughout the day, kids had the opportunity to meet and engage with these community heroes in a fun and safe environment.
One of the highlights of the event was a demonstration by the Millbrook Fire Department, where they showcased the Jaws of Life in action on a car. Additionally, the Punishers LEMC Three River Chapter was in attendance, along with several other businesses and community organizations, all contributing to the day’s festivities.
Families also enjoyed free food, courtesy of The Wetumpka Windcreek Casino and Dominoes, and live music throughout the event. Free T-shirts were distributed to attendees, adding to the day’s excitement.
The next city event will be the 15th Annual Boo Festival on Saturday, October 26, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Village Green Park in the heart of Millbrook. With another round of family-friendly fun on the horizon, Millbrook continues to showcase its commitment to building community through local events.
