Prattville football defensive lineman Elijah Brown recently narrowed down a long list of suitors and committed to play in college at the University of Kentucky.
“It was an automatic connection there,” said Brown. “The way they treat each other, it’s just a family environment, and I believe I can be elite there both academically and athletically.”
The 6’1”, 290-pound defensive lineman was named 1st Team All Metro by the Montgomery Advertiser following his junior season. He holds offers from a who’s who of powerhouse college football programs, including Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Southern California.
Brown enjoyed a visit to Kentucky’s campus in March. “I liked the way they practiced and got after it. The campus is an elite campus,” said Brown.
The Kentucky commit has lofty goals for his senior season playing for the Lions. Individually, he hopes to break his own single-season sack record. For the team, he wants to bring a state championship back to Prattville.
Brown plans to major in Business. The defensive lineman also has a lofty goal for his time at Kentucky. “I want to be in the Heisman race,” said Brown.
