Jeremyah Williams did it all for the Marbury Bulldogs football team in 2025. On offense, he had 718 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. On Special Teams, he had 548 kick return yards, the most in the state of Alabama according to Coach Jeremy Banks. He had 2 kickoff return touchdowns and one punt return touchdown. On defense, he had 12 pass break ups and 5 interceptions, 2 of which he returned for a touchdown. As a result, Williams was the only football player in Autauga County named 1st team All County on offense, defense, and special teams.
“I really put in the work, commitment, and just balled hard and was coachable. I felt great — it was really a blessing, and I deserved it,” said Williams.
Coach Banks had nothing but praise for his All County player.
“Jeremyah, aka ‘DaBaby,’ meant the world to his teammates,” said Coach Banks. “When you look at teams and it’s that one guy who everybody looks for to lead the chant or make a play, Jeremyah was that guy for our program. I don’t like to say it, but he had that type of effect where if he couldn’t get going that game, or went down with an injury, we struggled quite a bit because of the sort of halo effect he had on his teammates. He was the heart and soul of the program.”
In Marbury’s win over Beauregard, Williams had over 120 yards and a touchdown on offense, and a game clinching interception. He also led the Bulldogs as they won their final two games of the season against Holtville and Elberta.
Williams credited the coaching staff’s belief in him as a big reason for his successful season.
“The coaching staff will always be great, and one thing I’ll remember from the coaching staff is they never turned their backs on me and always told me the right things and believed in me,” said Williams.
Williams hopes to pursue football in college, and has his first college visit planned for January 28. His high school coach believes a college coach will be lucky to sign Williams.
“High character guy who wanted better for his teammates,” said Coach Banks. “Besides playful banter to his closest friends, he never was the one to really brag on himself. I honestly think he was surprised himself by how much the guys praised his success, which speaks to his humble nature. He is a really good kid that won’t give potential future coaches any problems.”
Coach Banks said that Williams’ high character is matched with his impressive work ethic.
“A great young man who I am proud to have watched work. He took the weight room and offseason workouts seriously. He was already known to have good speed, but the way he worked in the offseason I think gave him the confidence and swagger to realize he had so much more potential he could reach.”
