The West Elmore Lion’s Club hosted its annual Rubber Duck Race, Sept. 5, 2025, at Village Green Park with Millbrook’s Tunes on the Green concert immediately following.
“This is a huge fundraiser for us, and we invest the funds back into the community by making donations to local nonprofits and charities,” said Carol Bowman, Lion’s Club International Foundation Coordinator for the West Elmore Lion’s Club. “By supporting the duck race, you support your community.”
Hundreds of bright yellow ducks bobbed along the creek as participants cheered them to the finish line. Each duck, purchased for $10, helped raise money for local charities. Cash prizes awaited the winners:
1st Place: Chris and Nancy Williams – $250
2nd Place: Ashley Williams – $150
3rd Place: Larry Dorb – $100
Last Place: Tina Woodson – $50
After the race, families spread out on the lawn for Tunes on the Green, a free community concert that showcased local band Mother Moonpie. The evening also featured food from Jennifer’s Food to Go, River Region Snobiz, and Made by Molly’s cookies, while a kid’s play zone and slime-making station kept the youngest attendees busy.
From the first duck to the final chord, the event brought neighbors together in true Millbrook style.
