Victory Christian Academy (VCA), of Millbrook, underwent a series of renovations this summer aimed at boosting school pride and visibility.

“A lot of people drive by and have no idea that we are a school,” said Jill Pastorelli, Administrator of VCA. “We are working on improving our curb appeal and creating a place our students are proud of.”

Thanks to donations and fundraising, this summer’s updates include resurfacing the parking lot, repainting the roof and exterior of the building, adding the school’s name to the front awning, and ordering brand-new playground equipment.

The new playground is set to arrive on the second day of school, and the painting projects are expected to wrap up soon after the school year begins.

In addition, Victory Baptist Church — the ministry behind VCA — recently voted to move forward with an expansion of the academy, hoping to break ground on the new development later this fall.

“We’re so excited that our school is growing, and God is blessing the ministry,” said Pastorelli. “We want to take care of the things God has given us.”

Founded in 1971, VCA is a K4-12 school located on Highway 14 in Millbrook. Their mission is to provide students in the area with a quality Christian education that fosters academic excellence, Christ-like character, community involvement, and well-roundedness.
