Campaign Announcement for Jade Denise Loyd

My name is Jade Denise Loyd, and I’m proud to officially announce my candidacy for Millbrook City Council Ward 1. I am a lifelong resident of Millbrook, Alabama, and this city holds a special place in my heart.  Growing up in a small town provided me with deep-rooted values, a strong sense of community, and an unwavering commitment to serve.

My educational journey began at Victory Baptist School, continued by Millbrook Middle, and led to my graduation from Stanhope Elmore High School in 2018. I continued on to earn a Bachelors of Arts in psychology from the illustrious Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University of Huntsville, AL.

During my tenure in undergraduate school I was involved in the following: Alabama A&M University Cheerleading, National Honor Society of Leadership, Honor Roll, Psychology Club, Student Government Association and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in counseling at Southern New Hampshire University. These experiences—both academic and personal—have shaped me into a woman equipped with strong leadership skills, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and a deep desire to make a difference.

I was raised in a family that believed in the power of service. My mother, Dr. Joyce Loyd-Davis, served on the Millbrook City Council and founded the Holiday Smile Project during her tenure—an initiative that has continued for 12 years, providing hope and resources to vulnerable families across Millbrook and the tri-county area. Watching my parents selflessly give, instilled in me the belief that true change starts with compassion and action.

My community involvement includes extensive volunteer work through my church, Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, the Holiday Smile Project, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., My Sister’s Keeper, and the Community Improvement Association. Professionally, I have served in management and administrative roles, and have always maintained a strong focus on customer service and people-centered work.  My management experience, exposure with travel, community service, educational background and heart to serve collectively equip me to be a strong Councilwoman for Ward 1.

I am also a proud mother to my two-year-old daughter, Wynter Denise Kelly—my greatest inspiration and motivation. I’m running for City Council because I believe in igniting a new generation of leaders who are innovative, community-driven, and deep rooted in faithful actions.

I simply desire to represent the citizens of Ward 1 and share our thoughts as the community continues to grow. My platform supports the following: strengthening family-focused community initiatives, advocating for safe neighborhoods and well-maintained roads, promoting clean and beautiful spaces throughout Millbrook, keeping constituents informed through regular newsletters and community meetings, supporting continued economic development and programmatic expansion, as well as, collaborating harmoniously with the Mayor and fellow council members to meet the needs of our residents I am ready to listen, serve, and lead. Let’s work together to shape a bright future for Millbrook; where every voice is heard and every neighborhood thrives. I humbly ask for your vote on August 26th for Millbrook City Council Ward 1. Thank you for your consideration!
